Watch out for Phishing!

Attempts have been made to fraudulently obtain legitimate Heartland Connect usernames and passwords using a process commonly referred to as phishing. In this process, users are lured to a web site designed to appear identical to Heartland’s Connect web site. You are asked to enter your username and password as you normally would. These are then captured by the fraudsters and used to perpetrate credit card fraud. If you receive an email that appears to be from Heartland, before you enter your username and password, be sure to verify the web site name as shown on the address line of your browser is Heartland's legitimate Connect website: reports.secureexchange.net, and not an imposter's website. Also, you should change your password periodically (every 30 – 90 days) and after any suspicious activity. If you ever have any questions about the legitimacy of a request, don’t hesitate to contact the Heartland Service Center.
